Cape Town – so far, so good…
Late last night, after an almost endless flight, we arrived in Cape Town, South Africa.
We’re here to do a Videojournalism seminar with the Media Academy here .
We met them a few years ago in Brussels and they’re taking the VJ concept to South Africa.
For those of you in town (or who want to jump on a plane today!), we’ll be holding the seminar at The Grand Daddy Hotel in Cape Town. Starts 9:30 Monday, so you still have time!
All the information is here, at www.media-academy.co.za
Why it is .za and not .sa, I cannot tell you. I suppose someone else already got .sa, abut I can’t imagine who. Samoa, maybe?
In any event, did not get to bed until around 2am, and started off this morning with a live interview on SAFM, South Africa’s equivalent of BBC Radio 4, or so I am told.
It was one of those chatty weekend talk shows, so you can’t say stuff like ‘don’t move the f$%^ing camera’, and they ask you questions like ‘what kind of tree are you’.
But for the moment, I am sitting on the veranda of the Grace Bay Hotel overlooking the yacht harbor and working on the free WiFi. So far, so good.

If you get a chance, go to Hermanus and Gansbaii, two great little towns that are MUST SEE places in S.A.

Great to have Michael and Lisa in SA…
Firstly the photo you posted is of my hometown Hout Bay, and as you know we run a hyperlocal online Tv channel called http://www.790tv.co.za from here.
Secondly .za comes from Zuid Afrika the afrikaans for South Africa..
